Hi everyone,
Welcome to my blog. My name is Nimrod David Pfeffer, and I'm a classical pianist from Israel, currently residing in New York City. You can read more about me on my website at http://www.nimroddavidpfeffer.com/, and hear my music on my YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/nimroddavidpfeffer.
This is a place where I would like to casually write my thoughts about classical music, as well as many other thoughts about art and life, and would be happy to get your reactions, to discuss them with you and to argue.
My first question is whether one should strive to be loyal to a musical score when interperating a piece of music.
Also, do you think that one should feel obligated to follow the traditions, created by generations of other great and not so great artists, and the aesthetics of a composer of a classical music work, or should one feel free to communicate his ideas even when they are conflicting with those?
What if some performing musicians remain the "tradition keepers", while others are not, and the audience will choose its preferance?
Would be glad to hear your thoughts!
Best,
Nimrod
